سوق الصلب المصري في الربع الأول 2026: نمو في الأرقام وتحديات في التكلفة والسيولة. خاص ستيل نتورك أظهرت بيانات حديثة لقطاع الصلب في مصر تبايناً ملحوظاً في مؤشرات الأداء خلال الربع الأول من عام 2026، فبينما تشير الأرقام إلى نمو سنوي في الإنتاج والاستهلاك، يواجه السوق تحديات تشغيلية ناتجة عن تراكم المخزونات السابقة وضغوط تكاليف الطاقة. نمو الأرقام رغم "أزمة الكاش" حققت معدلات الاستهلاك قفزة سنوية بنسبة 30.5% لتصل إلى 1.86 مليون طن، بينما ارتفع الإنتاج بنسبة 16% ليبلغ 2.26 مليون طن. إلا أن هذا النمو يأتي بعد فترة من الركود النسبي شهدتها نهاية العام الماضي، والتي اتسمت بـ "اختفاء الكاش" وضعف القوة الشرائية، مما أدى إلى تراكم كميات كبيرة من المخزون "على الأرض" لدى الموزعين والمصانع. تحديات سلاسل الإمداد وأزمة الطاقة رغم وفرة الإنتاج، دخل السوق في منعطف جديد مع بداية شهر أبريل الجاري، حيث شهدت الأسعار موجة ارتفاعات جديدة. ويري خبراء السوق هذا الارتفاع إلى عاملين أساسيين: تكلفة الطاقة: الزيادات الأخيرة في أسعار الطاقة للمنشآت الصناعية نتيجة الأزمة العالمية الراهنة، والتي رفعت تكلفة صهر وتصنيع الطن بشكل مباشر. سلاسل الإمداد: وجود نقص في بعض مدخلات الإنتاج المستوردة، مما دفع المصانع لمحاولة تحصين مراكزها السعرية. تحليل الفائض والمخزون تشير الأرقام إلى وجود فائض إنتاجي يتجاوز 400 ألف طن في الربع الأول وحده، وهو رقم يضاف إلى المخزونات المتراكمة من الربع الأخير لعام 2025. هذا الفائض قد يعمل كـ "حائط صد" مؤقت ضد نقص الإمدادات، لكنه يضغط في الوقت نفسه على السيولة المالية للشركات التي تسعى لتصريف المخزون القديم بأسعار التكلفة الجديدة. يتحرك سوق الحديد في مصر حالياً بين "مطرقة" ارتفاع تكاليف الطاقة ونقص الإمداد، و"سندان" الركود التضخمي وضعف السيولة. وتظل حركة الأسعار في شهر مايو هي الاختبار الحقيقي لقدرة السوق على امتصاص هذه المتغيرات.

JSW Steel and POSCO Group have approved a 50:50 joint venture to construct an integrated steel plant in Odisha, India. The plant will have an initial production capacity of 6 million metric tons per year. Saffron Resources Private Limited, a JSW Steel subsidiary, will serve as the joint venture vehicle, with POSCO investing by subscribing to shares. Saffron Resources already owns 887 acres for the project. This partnership supports JSW Steel goal to expand its steelmaking capacity in India to 50 million tons per year by 2030/2031. The agreement, expected to be finalized by year-end, follows a previous scrapped POSCO project in Odisha due to land disputes and regulatory issues. European Commission has announced the first concrete step aimed at increasing stability and predictability in the European Union Emissions Trading System (ETS). The newly introduced proposal follows the plan announced by Ursula von der Leyen during the European Council meeting in March. The European Commission has proposed amendments to the current regulation in order to strengthen the Market Stability Reserve (MSR) mechanism under the European Union Emissions Trading System (ETS). While the existing system provides for the cancellation of allowances exceeding 400 million in the reserve, the new proposal plans to suspend this cancellation mechanism. In this way, these allowances could be retained as a buffer to support market stability. Commenting on the development, Wopke Hoekstra, EU Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth, stated that this step was taken as part of delivering on leaders’ commitments and represents an important first step in modernizing the carbon market. Hoekstra emphasized that strengthening the MSR will enhance the ETS’s resilience to volatility, while continuing to support decarbonization, boost competitiveness, and encourage clean investments. The MSR mechanism balances the market by reducing supply when there is a surplus of allowances and injecting allowances when there is a shortage. With the proposed changes, the system is expected to become more flexible and resilient against potential future supply constraints. The European Union Emissions Trading System is considered one of the key instruments in the decarbonization process. Through the system, fossil fuel consumption has been significantly reduced, the Union’s dependency on energy imports has decreased, and energy supply security has been strengthened. At the same time, it has contributed to the growth of renewable and low-carbon energy investments. According to data, emissions in the European Union decreased by 39% between 1990 and 2024 due to the ETS, while the economy grew by 71%. Amid increasing energy price volatility and geopolitical developments, the Commission continues to work with member states to make the system more modern and flexible. Background The Market Stability Reserve has been implemented since 2019 as a rules-based mechanism balancing supply under the ETS. Following the surplus created after the 2008 global financial crisis, the system has played a key role in reducing excess allowances, with 3.2 billion allowances cancelled by the end of 2024. Next Steps The proposal to amend the MSR regulation will be submitted to the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union for consideration. It must go through the ordinary legislative procedure to enter into force. Meanwhile, a comprehensive review of the European Union Emissions Trading System is scheduled for July 2026. During this process, additional measures to ensure the effectiveness of the MSR over the next decade will also be evaluated.
